From little seeds...

Here we have the first posting on my website about Botanical Art.

Strawberry 1

This is the first strawberry painting that I completed, and I am painting a series, all imaginatively given a number. In these little paintings I want to explore the configurations of the seeds that usually follow a roughly spiral pattern around the fruit but have really interesting little variations. The pips sit like little jewels in the flesh, some slightly askew and endearing...this is Botanical Art!
